Junior Women’s Association of the Golden Isles First Annual Character Breakfast a Success

Proceeds to benefit women and children in the Golden Isles

St. Simons Island, GA — September 8, 2018 — On Saturday, September 8, 2018, local residents and children gathered at Frederica Academy for the Junior Women’s Association of the Golden Isles (“JWAGI”) First Annual Character Breakfast.  Over 250 tickets were sold for the event which featured breakfast with many children’s favorite characters.

Local volunteers dressed as Cinderella, Belle, Elsa, Anna, Snow White and Prince Charming, Bob the Builder, the Little Bumblebee, Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.  Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald Duck, and the Cat in the Hat made appearances among many others.  Volunteers from the Pirates of the Spanish Main and Frederica Academy were instrumental in dressing up and interacting with children of all ages.

Attendees were also treated to a wonderful breakfast including pancakes, sausage and grits from Halyards, homemade donuts from Certified Burgers and Beverage, bagels from Sandy Bottom Bagels, and coffee courtesy of Local Brew.  Besides photos and autographs with the many characters, the event had hair braiding (courtesy of B.Lush Salon & Spa), face painting, and an extremely popular selfie station courtesy of Coastal Selfies.  All leftover food was donated to Manna House, The Well, and the Glynn County Fire Department.

The event was made possible by these and over 28 total sponsors of the event, including Frederica Academy which donated the use of their facilities.  JWAGI would like to thank all of their sponsors for helping make this first year so successful and look forward to a bigger and better event next year!
